A patron is someone who sustains and supports the artists' creativity. You enable him or her to produce more works of art, by providing space, time, money, networks, emotional support or other resources to sustain him or her. You can be an individual, part of government or civil society institution, a foundation, or a company engaged in philanthropy, a university, part of a religious institution, an artist's parents or partner…

You are attracted to art and artists that reflect your values, and those are the people you tend to support. By enabling an artist to create works of art that can later be experienced by members of the public, you are playing a critical role in cultural change.
